Dasco Cast 1130:
Multi-Metal Compatible, Die Release for Conventional Die Casting
and High-Integrity Casting Processes
D. A. Stuart Company (Warrenville, IL) has introduced
Dasco Cast 1130, a water based die casting lube, designed for both
conventional (hpdc) and high-integrity casting (semi-solid, thixotropic,
rheo, and squeeze casting) of magnesium, zinc, and aluminum. Dasco
Cast 1130 is based on a unique blend of additives that are designed
to provide blister-free castings with minimal residues. It is specially
designed to minimize buildup on and around dies, reducing the labor
required for die cleaning and associated downtime
Dasco Cast 1130 is phenol free, complying with EPA
regulations for water discharge (EPA 420.1 test).
Dasco Cast 1130 offers a number of unique advantages:
- Multi-metal compatibility (aluminum, magnesium,
and zinc)
- Field proven in conventional die casting
and high-integrity casting processes
- Phenol free
- Reduces wax and oil buildup in dies, cores,
and feed lines
- Excellent part finish
- Good die release
- Typically used at low concentrations (0.8
- 2%)
- Wide die temperature application range (250°F
- 700°F)
STUART INTRODUCES DRAWSOL WM 110, SYNTHETIC DRAWING COMPOUND
WARRENVILLE, IL, January 3, 2005 -- D. A. Stuart
Company recently introduced Drawsol WM 110, a synthetic metalforming
lubricant, specially designed for use on both ferrous and non-ferrous
parts. The product can be diluted with water in various proportions,
forming clear stable mixtures. Drawsol WM 110 may be applied by
flood, spray, roller, or drip methods. Drawsol WM 110 is oil-free,
minimizing the formation of smoke. The lubricant provides a light,
protective, residual film that provides temporary protection from
corrosion during indoor storage.
The advantages of Drawsol WM 110 include:
- Reduces scratching on drawn parts
- Residues are easily cleaned
- Reduces build-up in dies
- Can be used highly diluted, for cost-effective
operation
- Safe for galvanized materials
